Recipe: Breakfast Pizza

May 20, 2017 by Chauncey Custer Leave a Comment

If leftover pizza is your hangover cure of choice, welcome to your dream recipe—breakfast pizza. Imagine it: fluffy eggs, crispy hash browns, and buttery, flaky croissant dough combining with the cheesy goodness of a fresh pizza. This is a must-eat recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Ground Breakfast Sausage (can substitute for chorizo, smoked sausage, etc.)
  • 1 (8 oz.) Package of Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
  • 1 cup Frozen Hash Brown Potatoes, thawed
  •  1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (or more… we do love cheese)
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese (you can never have too much cheese)
  • Optional Add-ins: Bacon or Mushrooms

Directions:

  1. Apply mimosa to Chef (champagne + orange juice).
  2. Grab a large skillet and cook sausage over medium-high heat. Cook until meat is brown throughout. Drain excessive oil, crumble meat, and set aside for later.
  3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C for you Canadians).
  4. Pop open the package of crescent roll dough. Place in a greased 12-in. pizza pan. Use your hands to gently form a circular crust. The bottom of the crust should be sealed, and the outside edge should be slightly raised.
  5. Sprinkle the sausage and hash browns over the crust. Then top with cheddar cheese.
  6. In a large bowl, mix eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour mixture into pan.
  7. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top (and more cheddar, if you prefer)
  8. Bake in preheated oven until eggs are set—about 25 to 30 minutes.
  9. Remove from oven, and let pizza cool for 5 minutes.
  10. Grab you favorite boozy brunch beverage, and enjoy a slice!
